Located on the
Skykomish River east of Seattle in the town of Index, where white
water rafting, rock climbing and salmon running is a common sight.
Index is a small, one-of-a-kind, self contained
town that has not changed much since the early 1900s. Surrounded
by beautiful, steep, usually snow covered peaks, Index offers
incredible views from all parts of town. It is bordered on the
North by one of Washington's greatest rock climbing walls, viewable
right out your front window. Once you've been here, you can't
get this place out of your mind.
The 1988 movie "The
Grey Fox", is the inspiration for the name of the cabin.
Set in the Pacific Northwest in the early 1900's, the movie features
incredible photography of the area as it tells the story of Bill
Minor who was released into the 20th century after spending 30
years in prison. In his 60's, Minor lived the life of a gentleman,
but once a month he would rob a Southern Pacific train, making
him a hero among the citizens of Oregon, Washington and British
Columbia. The movie is a favorite of the owner's of Grey Fox,
and if you haven't seen it you'll have a chance to do so during
your stay.
